Pekapoos - loving lap dogs.
All about Pekapoos
The life span of a Pekapoo can range
from 10 - 20 years depending on heredity,
environment, and nutrition.  By feeding
premium foods and regular check ups at
the Vet the health of your dog will
outweigh the cost of premium foods.
Pekapoos are a cross between a Toy
Poodle and a Pekingese. One of our
favorite breeds. We started breeding them
in 2001.
The have been bred since the 1950's
much like the Cockapoo. They are
popular because of their size,
temperament, and ease of care.
Our Pekapoos range in weight of 6 to 12
lbs. and 8 to 10 inches tall.  One possible
trait is an underbite but we think it adds
character. They are great for small
apartments with weight restrictions and
they require little space to live in.
The Pekapoos temperament overall is
positive. As with any dog temperaments
can vary depending on heredity and
environment .  If a Pekapoo is socialized
at an early age with other animals,
children, and adults the Pekapoo will be
well adjusted rather than defensive or
timid when subjected to new situations.
Pekapoos  have been used as therapy
dogs.
Caring for a Pekapoo is minimal. They are
low to non-shedding. The coat could be
left to grow long or given what's known as
a puppy clip (short). The facial folds need
to be cleaned. They are meant to be
indoor dogs and not to be left outside in
excessive heat or cold so dirty coats are
often not a problem and in order to keep a
healthy coat should only be bathed once
a month. They need to be brushed if the
coat is left long to keep the coat free from
tangle.
Most Pekapoos are content with being a
lap dog after a few years but as puppies
and during the first 2 years are bursting
with energy.  Adult dogs are not lazy and
do like to go for walks either on a leash or
on their own in the back yard.
Pekapoos also come in many colors:

I thought you'd like to see 3 of
your puppies all grown up!
Our puppy Baci (Bachee) the
buff colored dog is shown
here with his older brother
Jake, in the forefront (the
Kilner's dog, born August
2006 to the same parents) and
his sister Shadow (the
Fuhrman's dog).  We all live in
the same neighborhood and
the dogs get together
regularly to play.

The are all the sweetest, most
adorable dogs!  We all love
them dearly!  It is so fun to
watch them together, they just
play until they literally drop,
exhausted.

I also wanted to let you know
that I believe because of your
great care of your puppies
that Baci survived being
exposed to Parvo virus when
he was only 10 weeks old.  We
were walking him in our
neighborhood and came
across another family who
had just gotten a new puppy.
The puppies played together
for a few minutes and then we
went home.  Three days later,
the family called me to tell me
theiredog was extremely sick
and in the hospital with Parvo.
 We immediately brought Baci
to the vet and they gave him
his next Parvo vaccine a
couple of weeks early but she
told me it wouldn't protect him
from getting it.  The other
puppy did die, it was awful for
the family, but Baci never
came down with it and we
attribute that to your
wonderful care.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!
And know that your puppies
have brought alot of joy to 3
families (not to mention
brought 3 families closer
together!).

Best regards,

Maria Buczek
